Flemish Masters in Situ in Flemish Brabant
This daytrip, organised by sociocultural organisation Amarant, starts off in Averbode with a visit to the Norbertine abbey and goes on to the Basilica of Our Lady of Scherpenheuvel. This grand building has seven recently freshened up scenes of the life of Mary to admire by Theodoor van Loon, who was clearly influenced by his contemporary, the more famous Rubens. Then it is time to go to Diest, where we will take some time out for lunch and visit the beguinage and the deconsecrated Church of Saint Catherine after.
